Is surgery the best option to cure acid reflux?

In this, small camera is inserted by making a small slit. Through this camera the surgeon can see a clear and a bigger picture on a monitor and thus can perform the surgery. General anesthesia is needed during this operation. But people don't want to opt for such severe procedure.

About Plicator

This is a new type of surgery which is less severe. In this, an instrument called Plicator is run down from a tube in the throat of the patient. Local anesthesia is given to the patient during this surgery. The surgeon tightens the valve .This surgery takes approximately 30 mins and the patient is discharged with a period of 1 day.
The patient may need to go through this surgery again after few years to retighten the valve.
